Group threatens security guard with gun after they were denied entry into an entertainment venue in Kyrenia

A group of individuals who were denied entry to an entertainment venue in Kyrenia last night reportedly pointed a firearm at the security personnel.

The incident happened in front of an entertainment venue operating in Kyrenia at midnight on Thursday January 2 when a dispute broke out between a group and security personnel after the group was denied entry. 

Following the argument, members of the group gathered unlawfully at the location. Among them, a 25-year-old individual identified as H.Ö. (M) unlawfully brandished a firearm. While inside a vehicle, H.Ö. raised the weapon into the air with the intent to fire and later pointed it at the security personnel to intimidate them.

According to a police statement, further investigation revealed that during a search at the residence of V.B. (M), identified as a suspect in the incident, authorities found the firearm used in the event, its magazine, and six live rounds of ammunition. These items were seized as evidence.

Eight individuals; VB, 48, H.Ö, 25, M.H.Ö., 32, SA, 43, AY, 38, GH, 39, FD, 20, and AY, 28 were arrested in connection with the incident:
