Man listening to loud music jumps from an apartment building after sighting the police: Seriously injured

An individual who was reported to the police for listening to loud music in Lefkoşa last night was broke his ankle when he jumped from a height of 10 meters after sighting the police. 

The incident happened at around 10:00 PM on Wednesday December 25 in Lefkcosia, following a complaint to the police regarding loud music being played in an apartment and disturbing other residents.

When the police visited the mentioned apartment, the individual named only as PLY, a 29-year-old resident and student, noticed the police and jumped from the balcony of the residence, approximately 10 meters high, injuring himself upon hitting the ground.

According to a police statement, the individual was treated at Dr. Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital for multiple fractures in his left ankle and is currently under observation in the Orthopedics Department.

The statement also revealed that during an immigration check, it was determined that the individual had been residing in the country without legal status or a residence permit.
