Man fined 8,000 TL for sharing video of reckless driving on social media

A driver was fined over 8,000 Turkish Lira in Kyrenia, and fined 25 penalty points for sharing moments of his dangerous driving on social media.

Though the time of the event was not stated, the individual was identified by the police and fined.

Police in a Press statement said:

"After images of a sedan vehicle driver dangerously drifting on the road and endangering human lives at the Zeytinlik Junction Traffic Lights on the Girne-Alsancak Bypass Road were shared on social media, the driver was identified by the Traffic Teams of Girne Police Department. The driver, who endangered human lives by driving recklessly, was fined 8,087.20 TL and received 25 penalty points."
