Citizen protest the prices of cucumber after buying 3 for 50 TL

The year 2025 is a year of increase in north Cyprus as the price of almost every basic commodities and services go over the roof.

First, it was an increase in vehicle registration and license fees, road tax, domestic koop milk and many more. The new one is the price of cucumbers which has left citizens in confusion and anger.

A citizens took to social media today to protest the price of cucumber after paying 50 TL for just three pieces of the vegetable.

The citizen who spoke to local media Kıbrıs Postası expressed frustration over the lack of effective inspections.

Despite only purchasing three cucumbers, which are currently priced at 122 TL per kilo, they had to pay 50 TL for 3 pieces and have called on authorities to implement stricter oversight.
