Crowd gather in front of TÜK building to buy cheap imported potatoes

Following the announcement by the TRNC authorities that residents can now buy potatoes at cheaper rates from the Soil Products Institution (TÜK), a large crowd gathered in front of TÜK on Thursday to get the staple crop.  

With the import of potatoes by the Soil Products Organization (TÜK), crowd gathered and queued at the Soil Products Organization early Thursday morning to purchase the imported potatoes. 

According to report, the long queue was attributed to only one cashier being available.

In a statement made yesterday by the organization, it was announced that the imported potatoes could be purchased from markets for 32 TL or from TÜK in 10 or 25-kilogram packages for 26 TL.
