iPhone saves a man’s life by taking the arrow meant for him
In one of the more bizarre iPhone use cases, an Australian man had his life saved by Apple’s gadget.
According to police reports, a man from Nimbin, north New South Wales returned home to find another man waiting for him armed with a bow and arrow. The 43-year-old victim brought his phone up to take a picture of the assailant and that’s when the latter loosed his arrow.
The bow owner, a 39-year-old man who was known to the homeowner, was arrested at the scene. He was charged with armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and malicious damage.
The assailant has been granted conditional bail and is set to appear in court on April 15.
Apple doesn’t specifically market the iPhone as capable of stopping projectiles, but this is a ringing endorsement to its build quality.
Just remember this story the next time someone tries to nitpick with a new gadget for flexing slightly under pressure.

It’s alleged the man fired the arrow at the resident which pierced through the man’s mobile phone causing the phone to hit him in the chin, reported the police.
It left a small laceration that didn’t require medical treatment.
