Hit and run driver turns self in, 3 other people wrongly accused

The hit and run driver who reportedly hit a police officer at a traffic control check point at Esmerim Street, Famagusta on Saturday night has turned himself in to the police according to report reaching us.

On Sunday we brought you a report that a Turkish Cypriot police officer was hit by a hit and run driver of African origin during a traffic control exercise at the at Esmerim Street, Famagusta on Saturday night.

Following the incident police made a plea to the public to report the suspect if found.

According to report reaching us, the suspect turned himself in on Monday while his car was seized by the police.

He was accompanied to the station by a lawyer and will be arraigned before a Famagusta court on Tuesday.

Also three other people who had no part in the incident were declared wanted by a social media user who as we speak have made life a living hell for them as they are being falsely accused of what they know nothing about.

Though the social media post has been taken down by the person,  but not after it has been shared more than hundred times on social media.

We want to plead by this report that these fellows are innocent and that the suspect who is responsible for the hit and run is currently in police custody.
