Paper Round: Manchester United face off against Real Madrid in Los Angeles pre-season bust-up
United and Real face off in LA
The Mirror reports on Thursday that there’s been no love lost
between Manchester United and Real Madrid as the two teams hold
neighbouring training camps in Los Angeles. Both teams are training at
UCLA and have apparently fallen out over which of the European big dogs
got the best training facilities and accommodation. In fact, the
newspaper claims the ill-feeling is strong enough to have necessitated
an intervention by the organisers of the International Champions Cup.
Our view: There's no doubt that there's bad blood between the two sides following the collapse in a deal to transfer Morata to United. They will meet during their pre-season fixtures on July 23 and again on August 8 and that will provide a platform to resolve the matter.

Snap-happy Aubamayang sends Chelsea fans into meltdown
Silly season continued as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang broke the transfer-window internet on Wednesday with yet another Instagram post. The Borussia Dortmund
forward shared what The Mirror called a “classically cryptic” social
media update showing the 28-year-old striking a casual pose on the steps
of what appears to be a private jet. All this naturally sent Chelsea
fans into a frenzy, as speculation mounted over boss Antonio Conte’s interest in Aubameyang after losing out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United.
Our view: We are not so such where Aubameyang will play next season. Chelsea needs a striker after losing out on Lukaku so expect some buzz about this till something is confirmed.

City zone in on Bertrand as Pep licks his wounds
Pep Guardiola was reportedly consoling himself over the signing of Dani Alves by Paris Saint-Germain
on Wednesday, with the prospect of a new recruit at The Etihad.
According to The Sun, Guardiola’s search for a new defensive line-up
continued with Southampton left-back Ryan Bertrand
catching his eye. The Saints are not keen on selling the 27-year-old,
so says the paper, but a bid of £30 million could be enough to persuade
them.
Our view: City needs a full back urgently before the season starts and theres no need dwelling on the fact that they missed out on Alves. Though Bertrand is going to seem
like a bit of a consolation prize but
Southampton might want to play a hard ball on this knowing City will be desperate in the transfer market.
